Exhibition Stand Design

Exhibition stand design is the creative and engineering process of planning a trade-show stand around your brand, audience and objectives. It covers concept development, 3D visualisation, materials and finishes specification, lighting and AV planning, structural engineering, graphics, and visitor flow design. Expositionists’ design team produces hand-sketched concepts, photorealistic 3D renders, technical drawings, and build-ready packs — all in-house — so what you approve on screen matches what visitors see on the show floor.

Exhibition stand design is included in our build pricing. Bespoke designs start at £299 per square metre. Custom modular designs start at £199 per square metre. Package designs are pre-defined for each size tier (a 6sqm Bronze package starts at £2,950). For design-only services without build, contact us for a project quote. Most clients use our free design consultation to get 3D visuals before committing to build.

Our design phase typically takes 1–4 weeks depending on complexity. Custom modular stands move from brief to approved 3D visuals in 1–2 weeks. Bespoke stands take 2–4 weeks for design (including multiple concept routes and revisions). Larger or more complex builds with double-deck structures or extensive AV may need 4–6 weeks of design work.

Our design service includes: discovery session to map audiences and objectives; zoning plan and visitor flow; multiple creative routes (typically 2 concepts); photorealistic 3D visuals; materials and finishes specification; lighting and AV planning; structural engineering for builds over 4m; graphics specification; and build-ready packs (elevations, fixings, finishes). A dedicated project manager carries the design intent through to on-site delivery.

Yes — we offer a FREE design consultation for new clients. After understanding your brief, we’ll produce initial 3D visuals so you can see your stand before committing to build. This is included in our service for clients planning to build with us.

We design bespoke builds (built from scratch), custom modular stands (reusable aluminium frameworks with branded panels), double-deck stands (two-storey for private meeting space), sustainable cardboard EcoStands, and portable self-build systems. We also design shell scheme enhancements for venues where the basic shell is provided by the organiser.

Yes. We work regularly with existing modular systems — adding fresh graphics, new lighting, integrated AV, or reconfiguring the layout for a different footprint. We can also redesign legacy bespoke stands for new shows, refreshing the brand experience without starting from scratch.

We design and build at every major UK venue (ExCeL London, NEC Birmingham, Olympia, Manchester Central, ICC Birmingham, Business Design Centre, Farnborough, ACC Liverpool, Harrogate, Telford) and across Europe (RAI Amsterdam, Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Koelnmesse, Hannover Messe, Hamburg Messe). For European shows we manage cross-channel transport, customs, and local compliance from our UK base.
